Long live Seiko
Let’s face it, Seiko make great watches at reasonable prices, that are reliable and keep excellent time - more than could be said for some expensive brands. This watch is attractive and has interesting & useful features (at least to a pilot/former-pilot). It looks good on, fits well (once the band was adjusted) and is easy to operate. Most Stylish, Best Masculine Personal Timepiece
This watch is the Seiko Flightmaster, a timepiece that just oozes masculinity! It has a rotary slide rule around the rotary bezel, for making in-flight calculations that could save the aircraft, crew and passengers! Rotary-bezel watch technology is used in SCUBA diving watches, to time the AIR TANKS. Since a pilot might go down in the water, the Seiko Flightmaster SNA414P1, A.K.A. 7T62-0EB0, is water resistant to 200 meters! Keep in mind that water resistance ratings assume no movement, so 200-meter rated is good for swimming, showering, 60-meter dives, but not 200-meter diving. For that you'll need a 1000-meter rating! And the rating has a time limit, in the case of this Seiko watch I believe it is 1/2-hour. What is the real meaning of a 200-meter water-reaistance rating! It means the watch can sit still at a depth of 200 meters for 1/2 hour. But that doesn't mathematically translate into anything we care about. But it is generally considered the minimum rating for those who shower and swim with their watches on. 100-meter is only for splashes, not immersion. There is a stop watch with a 1/5-second hand (ticks 5 times per second, simulating smoother motion in a quartz moverment. The subdials are seconds, stop-watch minutes, and alarm. The date is easy to set, as well as everything else! I had the instructions memorized within an hour. 7T62 is the movement, or calibre used in this watch. The functionality of the 7T62 is 2 pushers (buttons) and a crown controlling time, alarm, stop watch and date. Every Seiko watch that uses its 7T62 movement is labeled with 7T62-xxxx on the back, where xxxx is the second half of the case designation. For this watch it is, 7T62-0EB0, GOLD TINT. The 7T62-0EB0 Flightmaster, like its predecessor, the 7T34-6A09, it is one of the most popular Seiko models! For many people it is magnetically attractive, and the chicks go to pieces over it! Every little bit helps when you're picking up women! They always say it's the little things that matter! Who needs a Ferrari when you've got a Seiko Flightmaster with rotary slide rule? The movement has no jewels, which are bushings made of gemstone, for wear resistance. It's large, heavy, and oozes masculinity! It's the best looking watch I've owned! But they aren't exactly inexpensive. This watch, if maintained every five years or so, will probably last a lifetime, or more! There's a lot of them on the market, not because so many want to get rid of them. But because used prices have exceeded new prices, and people are willing to part with them for a high enough price! It's predecessor sells for about double used as when it was new. You definitely don't find that in watches often. The original purchaser generally pays more than subsequent owners. But in the case of the Seiko Flightmasters, and no other watches I'm aware of, you can sell them on for more than what you paid new!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I chose gold because i though it would be easier to read the time & date over the stainless which appears busy with less contrast & slide scale & chrono would rarely be used. The gold versions slide rule & scale require the right lighting to use.The watch arrived safe & sooner than expected.
