One of many video game incarnations of Todd McFarlane's Spawn character, Spawn: In the Demon's Hand is a port of the arcade title developed by Capcom. Arcade and Tournament modes are offered, the latter offering Team Battle and Battle Royal modes for a single player versus the CPU only. The Arcade mode, consisting of Boss Attack, Team Battle and Battle Royal modes allows up to four players to compete against one another within a collection of enclosed arenas. Unlike the other two modes, Boss Attack takes either one or two players through a series of boss battles, the primary objective being to eradicate the boss character inhabiting the level before time runs out. Standing in your way however is a cabal of armed minions and henchmen.<br><br>Each character possesses three special abilities and attacks, and can arm themselves with a plethora of unique melee and projectile weapons and power-ups that litter the stage. By breaking objects in the stage or beating them out of opponents, yellow, blue and red orbs can be obtained that increase the fighter's speed, defense and attack power, respectively. When killed in the Boss Attack mode, the player is revived automatically, but at the cost of time and without any of the power-ups accrued with a previous life.<br><br>Team Battle mode pits two teams (each consisting of two players) against one another. Here, KO Points are accrued by killing opposing team members. Defeating the player currently in the lead is worth four points, while killing any other player is worth two. A single point is awarded should you be indirectly responsible for an opponent's death. Killing yourself, however, will minus three points from your score, and accidentally killing a teammate will cost you two points. The team with the most points when the allotted time is up is declared the winner. The Battle Royal mode is much the same, except here it's every man for himself. Before the aforementioned Team Battle and Battle Royal modes, various game options such as player handicap, and game maps can be customized.<br><br>A motley collection of 36 characters from the comic book are included in the title, only a smattering of which are initially selectable. Fans of the license will be pleased to see the likes of Cogliostro, Jessica Priest, Al Simmons, Sam, Redeemer, Brimstone, Tremor, Clown and of course, Spawn himself included in the title, among a host of others. Additional characters, artwork and items can be unlocked by completing the title and satisfying other in-game conditions.Product Identifiers

A hidden gem
This game is Spawn porn for lovers of both the comics and animated series/movie. The combat is fairly rudimentary but the unlockables and excellent multiplayer experience make up for the (now) dated gameplay.
