Very nice model. Incised panel lines, cockpit wall detail, alternate lowered/retracted undercarriage. Much better than the older style Airfix models.

Teach the grand kids about older planes. Had a great time building this kit with the kids. Picked the wrong kit though should have gone for the starter kit as it had paint glue brushes ect. Had to source this myself. Lesson learned.......pay more attention to what you choose before you buy.

When I was a child airfix kits used to come with paint and glue. So I was a little surprised I had to order separately. Other wise a good child hood memory

New Airfix has some superb new molds (hello Blenheim), this is one of them. Crisp, little flash, looks like a spitfire. Cheap price. Why only 3 stars? Airfix could've popped in a Watts 2 blade prop and pre-war decals for an early bird and personally speaking, I just dont find the spit Mk I an attractive airframe unlike its contempories A6M2, Ki-43 -I, P-40C, Macchi C.200, Yak-1 and Hurricane Mk I. Its all relative so loses 3 stars but gains 1 because it couldnt care less about flippin' seatbelts, over which some people obsess. That's a very good thing indeed.

Pros - accurate, simple cons - plastic cockpit cover can get damaged easily, no guns to apply
