ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING MINI TORCH/LANTERN WITH BUILT-IN PHONE CHARGER. BRILLIANT!
Yep so its only a torch that doubles as a lantern. So why the top 5 star rating almost all over the internet? Well simply put, it IS the best value at its price point hands down! The best bang for buck out of anyone's money. Pluses... Excellent size, waterproof and very light to carry. Built-in full size standard USB-A (female battery charger socket) for topping up your phone or tablet PC. Also second USB-A (male plug) for charging this torch also built-in. Smoothly adjustable dimmable LEDs down to a nice usable 0.5 candela / 6 lumens light output. Similar to a real candle flame but without the flame flicker. When dimmed down the LED light output has a very nice glowing off-white almost yellowish colour but definitely not 'harsh' blinding white. This is a good thing. As it gives a feeling of a warm fire during the winter. However don't be misled as this a very powerful dual lantern/torch. Kick the power back up and it will deliver a very powerful 120 lumens on the main torch or an even higher 150 lumens as a lantern for a room or tent. Its so bright that on maximum power its difficult to look at it without ending up with 'after stars' in your eyes. So please don't leave this torch with younger children as a play thing. I was shocked at the incredible 170hrs (7 day) continuous run time on low but very usable lantern power with its built-in blue LED power indicator gauge. This spec alone blew me away as no other LED torch out there could last as long. Even on max power it will still last over 7hrs, that's almost all night. Superb as an emergency light & a must have in the car. The cons... No focusing mode. Would have been nice to have more control over the beam spread. People have complained about the on/off dimmer button. OK yes its stiffer than normal but personally I still found it easy to use. I think its better stiff than finding the damn thing switching on in the bag or rucksack! - Also no instructions in the box but that could have been just my item. However a mini carabiner hook/clasp is supplied in the box so all's good. Sadly charging time is very long, over 3.5hrs. But at least it lasts up to 170hrs in use! This item needs to be hung on to branches, frames or sticks as its not very stable on a surface unless its completely flat. So there you have it. Its pricey but you do get what you pay for. Its an outstanding gadget that's a must for the fisherman, camper, hiker and yes in the home as a cosy very cheap to run light whilst studying or while enjoying a glass of romantic tipple at night - say in the garden.
