I bought this one to replace an old cheap tripod. The old one was terrible for supporting the weight of a DSLR / video camera, it featured a base which was supported on one side, and if the camera was too heavy it would press the base down and be off angle. This one has a rigid dual strut platform to mount the camera and I am very happy. Pan and tilting is smooth and flows very well without any hang-ups. It's an affordable tripod which is well-built and able to raise high enough to capture my 6'3 height. Also it's quite lightweight too. It's so nice when you buy a cheap item which is genuinely a good decent product.

The tripod is ok and does the job. All the working parts are plastic and my easy to adjust. Not sure how robust it will be in the longer term. Stable at moderate extension but less stable than more robust tripods especially when not extended.

The Zomei Tripod is so great. I put my heavy canon 80d on there today with a 300mm telephoto lens and the Tripod handled it with ease. I placed the same weight on what I thought was supposed to be a sturdy travel Tripod and the casing split!! I've had to glue it all together for one of my smaller cameras. This Tripod handled every angle. Someone said that in the filming mode the panning noise was picked up. I beg to differ. No sound intrusion at all. Looking forward to taking it in the field and getting some great pictures. With the additional hook underneath to add a weight article for even more rigidity. No worries about walking away from it, getting out of sight and shooting remote photographs. I do have another professional Tripod that cost an arm and a leg at £199.00 and I have to admit that overall the Zomei Tripod was it's equal. A little less stable than my other Tripod but that was instantly rectified when I hung the weight of my camera bag on the underneath centralised hook. Aesthetically, it looks the part too. I went for black purely for the camouflage property. My other Tripod is silver aluminium and it does stand out; which isn't ideal when I'm trying to get shots of our 'Resident' foxes. I live next to a small wood and last year we had two adult and three baby foxes. Setting up the hide and positioning the black Zomei tripod and camera facing the foxes den (well I hope its still the foxes den. Haven't seen them this year yet) but when I walked away and got hid and looked to where the camera was, just for a few seconds I'd lost the camera and the Tripod. The Tripod because it really blended in with the tree branches. The camera because I'd draped a camouflage square patch of material over it. So, on first use I am TOTALLY impressed by this Zomei Tripod. I'd read someone else's one negative comment regarding a noise element that was evident whist in filming mode and panning left to right. Personally, I couldn't hear any noise at all, even so I still give the stem rotation cuff just the tiniest tiniest spray of WD40 and on panning left to right, right to left, up and down and on its side the only noise heard were the birds singing and my curse because I'd just nutted a low hanging tree branch!! I would recommend this Zomei Tripod as a fantastic field tripod. Quick and easy to set up. A leveling bubble on the Tripod to make sure you have the whole set up perfectly level. I'll use my other Tripod for social events like weddings etc but even then I might invest in the Zomei Q222 and sell on my old Tripod. Hope this helps another customer to make an informed choice. One last thing, the Price. The Zomei Q111 was priced at between £23.00 and £32.00 buy now but I found one that had been placed for auction. Brand new and in immaculate condition... I got it for £13.00!!! So if this review causes an interested flag to pop up I would totally look at the Auction angle first and having said that, if you "buy now" and pay £23.00 believe me when I say that you will still be getting a great bargain. Hope this review helps someone.Read full review

My only complaint about this product is the way the attachment head fixes to the main tripod stand. There were no assembly instructions included other that a basic picture which is common with many products of this nature. I believe a simple modification would make the head turn smoothly and firmly when panning during movie shooting. Other than that, the tripod folds more compactly and extends much higher than competitors. It has a good look and feel and represents good value for money.

The Zomei is a very stable tripod with pack down to a very compact size when not in use . I find the pan and tilt head very useful
