Yuo get what you pay for
RdI got this petrol jet wash to clean my tools and plant, to save having to run electrics everything.
Whilst it does a good job when running, getting it started is a nightmare. Now anyone who has ever used a Honda engine will know how reliable they are; they will start every time even after being stored for months. Not this engine. It is very temperamental. It ran out of fuel, and after refueling it was very difficult to restart even though the engine was hot still. I have now taken to topping up the fuel with the engine running!!
Add to that design flaws. The exhaust cover is right next to the fuel filler cap. Seriously, that was the only place you could put it?
The spark plug cannot be easily removed without dismantling part of the engine.
The electrical on/ off is so cheap and nasty it is embarrassing that it has been put on. It resembles the standard Honda switch but is a cheap copy. It seems to have three or four positions on it, and I suspect it may be part of the starting issues. Over winter I will replace it with a decent Honda one.
On the plus side, it is very portable. Several others of this size engine are on wheeled trollies, but I think that is overkill, it can easily be carried with one hand.
The selection of nozzles is good, and the cleaning power very good. No leaks from the water pump nor connections.
This unit is severely let down by the cheap engine. I would have gladly paid a little more to get a Honda engine.
A contractor at a site if mine showed me our clients petrol jet washer, battered, covered in plaster and paint and it started first pull after being in a builders lock up for a year. Guess what, a Honda engine.
