Capable Back-up
Bought as a backup to an aging but still great Oppo BDP 95. Plays more formats than the 95 in both video and audio. SACD and BluRay playback on par with the 95 so far, which is to say very good. Great universal disc player
This open box deal was great and the unit was in pristine condition as it was double boxed with its original packaging. I bought it primarily for its analog audio outputs, 4K Blu-ray and SACD disc playback, and Internet streaming capabilities. Video is crisp and balanced, and the sound quality exceeded my expectations. I also love the ability to pair up my Sennheiser Momentum 2 wireless headphones so that I can listen to music or watch videos without disturbing anyone else in my home. I like it but it has a few quirks. 1st if you go through the setup and let it find the WiFi on its own it tends to have shut down problems. Maybe it’s just the update with the error but the fix is going back in and selecting my password protected WiFi. The other issue is lack of apps no Redbox and a few others. It has Netflix and prime so it does have some popular ones. The build of the actual player itself is nice sturdy and heavy for its size. Great universal disc digital transport
I am using this with a wireworld supernova 7 glass optical toslink cable into a PS Audio Sprout 100. I have all types of discs and it has made all of them sound better than they ever have. I have a 50 inch vizio 4k tv and the video is so good i only use 1080p on the sony because it actually sounds better that way. I use it with a wifi connection as it sounds better that way, but it needs a strong signal or it stops working, and you have to unplug it to even turn it off. Screen goes blank for a second or two.
