Great product.
A good product, satisfying to use as you can watch it acting on rust after application. Wipe down after several minutes then apply another lot ,wipe off ,allow to dry then ready for primer. Wear gloves and goggles. Reaction can be helped by rubbing with wire brush or wire wool. I have been using this for over thirty years. The larger quantity you buy the cheaper it works out. Good product but sadly, didn't work for me
Bought this to remove small surface rust from some steel machine knitting needles. Didn't work sadly. It didn't remove the rust using the short time scale recommended and leaving it longer as suggested - turned all the needles irretrievably black. I have been using this 30+ years & my Father used since the early 1960's when 1 of colleague recommended it . Nothing works as well best result manually remove surface rust to allow jenolite to penetrate . jenolite rust remover
I actually bought this, thinking it was it's brother, Jenolite rust converter, but I'm glad I did. This is really good stuff. It's not expensive and does what it says. I submerged a hand full of rusty bolts in a cap full of this stuff, and within seconds, it starts to fizz... its doing its stuff. After 10 minds or so, i took them out, dried them off, and with a quick brush up with a wire brush, they were like new again ( apart from some slight discoloration). Ready to go back on my car. The oldest is still the best.
I've been using this product for over 35 years on my restoration projects, and it's stood the test of time. I never use anything else. Jenolite and Bonda primer together work so well in preventing rusting on panels. The modern equivalents encapsulate the rust, but who knows what will happen in 20 years time ? Why take the chance ? Dissolve the rust away and leave an inert phosphated surface for the primer to bond to. Its still the best anti rust treatment invented by anyone. I think I expected too much from what people reviewed. It probably is one of the top rust removers but I didn't know that they use the chemical in some soft drinks so it must be similar to citric acid.
