Nice station for the money
I asked our local weatherman about what to get to replace a really cheap station I had bough a couple of years ago and he recommended Davis Instruments. I found this as one of the least expensive. Got it and mounted it on a 1 1/4 inch piece of electrical conduit 10 feet long alongside my clothesline post. Got it up and running and I really like the amount of information that the console can provide. The graphing is a really nice feature as well. If you're looking to get into 'weather watching', I think this is a good place to start. It seems better overall than units that I have reviewed that cost half as much but I think you get what you pay for. I like it transmits every 2.5 seconds so that gives your pretty good wind reading. Vantage Vue Review
The outdoor unit is attractive, appears to be well made and is very functional. The indoor console however has some issues. First the good. The button layout is intuitive and easy to use. However the screen is angled at a fixed position which does not necessarily fit everyone's viewing angle. I have had to prop mine up at the back to get the proper angle. The biggest negative for me is the quality of the screen. It's definitely old technology. Daytime back-lighting is mediocre and the night time lighting is an unattractive orange. The arrangement of information on the screen could definitely use a make-over. If this unit had a higher resolution LCD color screen with some user select display options it would definitely be 5 stars.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

You get what you pay for!
I have had many weather stations in the past and decided to go the extra mile and try the next step up for a little more money. I was well worth the extra cash. This station is beyond great. I still don know all that it does but goes far beyond the basics. It is really fun to mess with and a great way to pass the time. Easy top initially set up but then the work begins experimenting with all the features. The instructions are easy to follow. One of the best I have found for the money that WORKS VERY WELL!
I have had 3 other brands and this is the best unit I have found that WORKS very well. I will; say it is a very good unit, has the best display and the just over 2 seconds that it transmits to the screen display is a BIG improvement over all of the others. I have this one now for about 3 weeks it is on target for all readings. I need a working unit since I live on the water in New York, so it has to work for me. Price, quality and accuracy can't be beat!
The packaging is very good and the instruction manual very handy for setting up the unit. Found that pairing the weather station with the base station takes a bit longer than suggested in the manual , but it eventually did pair and has been working flawlessly. This is my second unit as the previous unit did very well but after 8 years the weather station unit had some failure. 8 years is not bad for getting some very important and very accurate weather readings. Great for the home enthusiast
Simple, with a 2 second refresh rate, which you won't get with other home weather stations. For under 300 dollars, you're backed by the Davis name of quality. The only reason I rated it a 4 was you need Davis's internet setup or you can't connect to the interned. That setup alone is another few hundred dollars. It didn't bother me because I purchased this weather station for the refresh rate, I will not be hooking it up to the internet. If hooking it up to the internet and your financially concerned, you can get an inexpensive station with a longer refresh rate and hook it up to the internet for around 300 or less dollars. So Far this Davis weather device has been Great
I have enjoyed the Davis 6250 Vantage Vue Wireless for about 2 months now. It does deliver everything via WIFI that the description says it can do. I can't wait for this Winter when we get Snow dumped on us and temps drop to -3 below with almost daily wind speeds between 5-10mph. Best weather station for the price
I have had an Acurite wireless weather station for years and it worked great, but couldn't catch all the wind gust readings because of the slow refresh rate on the sender unit. The Davis refresh rate is 2.5 seconds, so I am able to catch more accurate wind readings and gusts. Just unboxed it and set up was ez. Good quality, works great. Hoping for rain to see if rain gauge works. I know it will, its not junk. Davis weather station
This is the second Davis weather station, the last unit lasted nine years. It went through severe hail storms, tornado strength storms and the usual weather found in the midwest. I work with the weather service and use this as a reference when I am called to give local weather conditions. It is easy to set up and does a great job.
