Good but better instructions?
Used it today on MGA dashboard -looks brilliant! But, instructions are a bit unhelpful. Says paint needs 48 hours to dry. But, also mentions heating to cure to get the effect. Are these options? Bless You-tube chaps, suggestions that for best results do the 3 coats, wait one hour, then use hot air gun to create the wrinkles. It worked brilliantly! Black wrinkle finish paint
I used this product years ago on a few occasions with very pleasing results every time. Something has changed, resulting in poor, uneven and uniform finish. Both attempts had to be stripped back to bare, shiny and very clean metal. I followed the directions exactly and to the letter. Need wrinkles? This is for you.
I've been using this paint a few years now and it never dissapoints. Excellent 'factory fresh' finish every time and lasts really well, even on engine parts subjected to moderate heat. satin black for real
stayed a good strong black. needed to cover a rough finish on gearbox cover (harley) warmed work piece first then sprayed even and quite heavy. after 3 days drying ready for use or curing I used an old slow cooker with a heat gun as oven. I would not cure in oven in kitchen the vapours while curing are very strong. but very happy with it for a part that is visible.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Multiple uses, nearly as good as powder coat
Applied this to many items on my engine. Works brilliantly! Apply 3 coats relatively thickly, not so much so it runs, use a heat gun in between coats to wrinkle the paint, takes a bit of time but be patient, when it goes it you can see straight away. After the last coat, put it in the oven for an hour on 95/100 degrees Celsius. Does stink a bit and for a few days after so be warned if your doing it in the oven in the kitchen 😂 very durable and hard wearing.

Gives a gloss finish with mixed results. It's not exactly a 'wrinkle' finish, but certainly a textured finish with a like a cray zig-zag pattern. I tried to dampen the gloss with a matt black cover, but it virtually took out the textured finish, and ended up like a soft lumpy texture. If you need a wrinkle finish then you will probably need to cough up for a specialist painter and finisher to do the job.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

simply didn't crackle
The instructions for use on the can are illegible. I removed the label, scanned it and enlarged it so I could read them and followed exactly the instructions. It failed to crackle and on respraying as directed, only patches crackled. The oven baking at 200c just caused blisters. I stripped it down and resprayed it. Same result, no crackle.
