The swollen wool pellets form a felt which makes it difficult for slugs to travel across. Slug Gone is the natural, organic way to keep slugs and snails away from plants. Slug Gone is applied to the soil below the plant to create a irritating, absorbent mat that works as a natural slug repellent.

  • Best stuff around.

I use this to keep slugs away from my tender plants as well as potted displays. I put a 6" filled circle round a single plant. The slugs and snails dislike crawling over it. When specimen plants such as hostess are planted in large tubs I cover the whole top of the compost with a layer of Slug Gone and then wait for the slugs to try to cross it. Any who are still around the next morning are removed, sprinkled with salt and left out for the birds and hedgehogs to eat. Once the pot is watered the pellets merge together and form a thick mat that slowly decomposes over 6 months, putting goodness back into the growth medium. As you notice Slug Gone is dry when it arrives and this makes it easy to handle. Be sensible and wear gloves since the basic material is shearings of sheep wool growing round their back-sides and therefore liberally covered with dried faeces. My supplier was excellent and the goods arrived very quickly. Good value for money and it works!

  • Found effective spring protection, though heavy rain can reduce effectiveness, pity about the plastic

I have found it works effectively in our garden (on a clay soil) provided the barrier remains complete. Heavy rain can reduce its effectiveness by compacting the product. It has been very useful around bulbs, as the residual product, whilst rotting down, marks their location once they have died back so I can see where not to plant my summer bedding. This has now become a regular purchase, so only missed out on five stars because of the amount of plastic in the packaging (especially for the large tubs).

  • GREAT PRODUCT, really does a good job on the slugs and snails.

I tried this last year for the first time and was really impressed with the way it prevents the slimy devils from getting to my fruit and veg, plus the added bonus of added humus to the soil. It also not harmful to other animals and clean and easy to use. Great innovation in the fight against slug damage.

  • Yeap, ‘em slugs be gone!

This is a wonderful product that I have have been using for a couple of years now it’s not just slugs but also snails. The plants really appreciate the mulch and feed . I just wish they supplied larger bags as I use4 of these packs all over my garden.

  • Intelligent use works better.

I have used Slug Gone for a few years and find it a useful tool in the fight against slugs. Young plants can be protected by its use. It does though have to be used carefully to protect those plants because slugs and snails welcome a challenge to find a way through any defences against them. A scattergun distribution will not be as successful as using the product in a more targetted way to cover a larger area.

  • Does the job it's meant for superbly!

I have use "Slug Gone", every cultivation season to prevent slugs/snails from eating up the fruits & vegetables that I grow in my allotment plot. It's an effective product for repelling slugs/snails without killing them, which is what I want. I've already recommend it to several allotment colleagues.

  • Best slug deterrent on the market.

It’s just a shame that slugs are intelligent!!!! enough to graze between plants without ever crossing the pellets. Even so I have had a fantastic reduction in slug and snail damage this spring, and it’s not been down to the weather. I’ve checked my pots every morning and activity is at an all time low. Try it, I recommend it.

  • Does what it says

Does what it says. I started to use Slug Gone last year having encountered too many slugs in the garden. My plants are primarily grown in pots, mostly large. I surrounded the plant with the Slug Gone pellets and had no further trouble with slugs. This spring I am incorporating the old pellets which have matted into my pot compost so no waste.
