  • Excellent range of 2K products

I've used this product before, and in different colours. I've also used their standard primer and 2K Klarlack (clear lacquer) products. The Spraymax range is very, very good in my opinion. Very easy to use notwithstanding the pot life of a 2K product once activated. The build is good, adhesion is very good, it levels out nicely and can be sanded super-smooth. The resultant primer layer is convincingly hard and solid feeling, and you get the benefit of a genuinely water/moisture proof coating that will protect the metal underneath. I try and create an unbroken coating, so I never sand through to bare metal once coated, which means you have to get the panel preparation just right so all you're really doing is keying the primer. However, the 2K high build (filler) primers can cover a multitude of sins including very coarse keying and deep scratching of metals, minor surface blemishes, etc. It's expensive I suppose, but there aren't that many 2K options for the average person to buy in the UK and use at home. Just one note - this isn't a mid-grey as you'd find with any number of 1K primers on eBay or even at Halfords. It's just off-white and looks white when sprayed, but if you spray a genuinely white primer, you will see a difference. This is sort of white with about 5-10% black mixed into it, if that makes sense - very light grey / off white. It'll make a difference to you if the base coat you want to spray has a recommendation for the colour of primer to use. Metallic silvers often suggest you use a genuine grey primer, for example.
