Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 3 Portable Bluetooth Speaker review. Great audio!
One of the better sounding bluetooth speakers. Place this thing in a corner and the bass is almost unbelievable. Tight and not muddy at all. No distortion. I own an Onyx 2 and 3 now. Both are great! The 2 may have slightly better highs and mids but the 3 has a few more features and still sounds amazing. I hear the 4 and 5 are not as special and actually have lost some sound quality...sad actually. New stuff should be better!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Gen 5 Portable HK speaker
Everything about this HK speaker is great. EXCEPT one thing and that is you have to press the power button each time to connect. I know what you’re saying, Duh you have to turn it on to use it! Well considering I own three others that once you turn it on and connect/disconnect the power always stays on. It never shuts off like this new one does . Amazing speaker!
I have many Bluetooth speakers some in the $300 range. Those speakers were loud, but they were lacking in one area. Bass. I researched a lot of speakers for bass and I didn’t want any that would break the bank either so I finally settled on the Onyx 5 Studio. I’m so happy with my purchase! All though it looks like a purse I could care less because I finally found a speaker with bass! And the bass it BALANCED and not overbearing against the highs and mids. I’m honestly very impressed with the sound quality and it can get loud too. So loud I have it on 50% all the time. Excellent sound in a "relatively" small package.
Very impressed with the sound this speaker puts out across the full frequency spectrum. The first music I play was classic Christmas music and I must say I was not impressed with the sound. That both surprised and disappointed me. BUT I later pulled up some "Audiophile" recording from YouTube and WOW. Give this speaker a great source and it will give you great sound. Highly recommend this speaker to anyone who cares about great sounding music. I did AB comparison of this speaker with my main system and it held up very well. Best of the $100 range bluetooth speakers, but you should buy two.
Easy to pair with a second H K Onyx Studio 5 which is the best way to use the product. i.e. buy two. Especially for a party. These can be used for a legitimate party sound, volume and all right through your phone. Good for Pandora. Not stereo. But, decent simulated stereo. Takes patience to set up. Absolute Steal for the price

Still the best on a budget
I have owned pretty much every one of these from the Onyx 1 and they do seem to keep getting better. The best part of the new design is that they got rid of the legs which used to break if you even looked at them the wrong way.
