Too much work involved for a simple cup of snow!
You must lift the top off the thing to put the ice in. You almost have to use the 3 inch ice molds, and one full mold will not shave down into a full cup of ice, you have to shave part of a second round block of ice. After you shaved a block of ice as much as the machine can, you have a 3inch diameter disc of ice about 3/8 of an inch thick, still in the machine which you must discard or put in the freezer, right now, or you will have a pool of water around your machine. The simple way is to put the ice mold under the machine and let it melt into it, but if you don't come back and dry it all up soon, you'll have mold like you get around any wet area in your home.
It's heavy. It's loud.
And the worst is yet to come! Once loaded with ice and the top back on, you must push down hard to shave your ice.
A nice consolation prize is - if you don't press too hard you get a finer powder. But for a person who likes to be treated nice, and who likes to treat people nice. This thing is a monster you'll never control! A total farce! They must be joking!
