Easy to use Mount Cutter
Very easy to use and accurate once the basic instructions supplied have been practiced. The first vertical cut I made to cut the mount's external dimensions ended with a blunted tip to the blade. A fair amount of both downward and horizontal pressure is required as you pull the cutter towards you. I had the mount card too near the user's end of the wooden base and as the blade emerged from the card there was suddenly no resistance and the cutter point hit the work surface. Lesson learnt, card placed a short way in from the end and be prepared as the cutter leaves the card. Cutting the chamfered edges inside the mount are easier to cut as you are pushing away from you with more control. Am now considering buying the vertical "push" type cutter from Logan. The great advantage of cutting your own mounts is you can make them to fit non-standard picture sizes or home made frames.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

The Logan 30-1 board cutter functions well.
Like all of Logan's board matt cutters the quality and finish is high. I also own a Logan 550-1 mat cutter, and this 301 produces results on a par of the 550. The 301-1 is easier to carry and place on a suitable work area I can be up & running in a few minutes with this. Just for smallish mat sizes, the 301 is just great. Working with a fixed guide rail is simple. No bells and whistles though. Just do your downsize measuring using a T square long ruler,or tape measure, and cut along the guide rail with the Logan 500 cutter enc. Straight level bevel edges at long last
