Fast!
So far, the drive is working without any issues whatsoever. The Samsung disk drive tool (I cannot remember the name of it right now) which is downloadable from their website tested the drive and reported excellent disk health. The laptop boots up way quicker, loads apps quicker - everything quicker! As expected since it was an upgrade from a 5400rpm HDD. It comes with the drive itself plus a thin plastic mount to make it deeper which was handy as the enclosure is deep for the old HDD. I had to buy a transfer cable to clone my old HDD onto this SSD. Superb SSD from Samsung for an upgrade to a laptop
Samsung make great drives, and this model is amongst the best with an ideal combination of capacity, speed, and longevity (endurance - minimum of 300 TB written). So much faster now at booting and running stuff
Very easy to clone your original HDD using the free to download Samsung software. Needed a lead to convert to USB to do the clone but that wasn't expensive. Very easy to then swap out with the original HDD. It is much faster now to boot up and do stuff. Needed to do a bit of research to enable AHCI but that only took 5 minutes and you don't have to do a fresh install of Windows 10 either. Should have bought one of these sooner. Bought Samsung after reading up and seeing it was classed as one of if not the best SSD. EVO is ideal for most home users like me.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

received with 4 days of order Fri-Tues Since the drive was a replacement for a failed Toshiba HDD with all the misery of rescuing/losing data, anything would be an improvement, but glad to say this Samsung SSD is on another level. Speed difference is amazing! although the drive capacity is a downgrade (500gb from 1Tb) the transfer speeds between external drives (usb3) and my laptop is such an improvement it makes moving data less of a chore and reduces the practice of hoarding data. Boot up and shutdown speed is also rapid. if I was more savvy about this SSD technology, I would have upgraded before HDD failure because the improvements are massive.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
