Solidly built compact dual-action cycle pump with pressure gauge
I had a similar pump for many years, but unfortunately something got spilled on it which rotted the plastic & rubber parts. This pump is well built with several metal parts, such as the locking lever and nozzle cap. I had no trouble inflating my mountain bike tyres to 40 PSI using the integral pressure gauge. The gauge is calibrated in both PSI and Bar, up to a maximum of 150 PSI (11 Bar). For some reason, only every 3rd value appears on the scale- so it goes from 30 to 60 PSI, with 2 black lines in between, representing 40 & 50. At the bottom of the gauge is a 3mm hex bolt, which can be adjusted to calibrate the display. The pump is comfortable to use, with rubberised grips at both ends. The only thing I'd advise is to grip the head near the top, to avoid trapping any skin between the head & the barrel. The only other addition which could possibly make the pump easier to use might be a short flexible hose, to allow the pump to be held more comfortably. The pump comes with a well designed bracket which can be bolted onto the frame via the water bottle tappings. Overall, a very nicely designed, well made product, which looks as though it should last a long time & should be easy to service.
