    A masterpiece

Amazing work done by actors and painters alike. A true masterpiece of visual art. A moving account of a great artist's last days. It is definitely a must watch. 5-star movie. A beautiful homage to Vincent Van Gogh's memory.

    Interesting but disappointing

I did not really enjoy this film and was rather disappointed. I was interested by the idea of the project, and missed it when it was being shown locally, but really couldn't see the point of it. Vincent's story is so interesting, and though it was lovely to see the paintings animated as part of the story I found the animations of the people rather dull, and the black and white animations of the story almost unpleasant, particularly Vincent who was made to look like the villain in a rather bad video game. Will not watch it again. I cannot help but compare it with the film made by the BBC some years ago which was mainly constructed from Vincent and Theo's letters, and with the artist beautifully played by Benedict Cumberbatch, which I have on DVD and have watched several times.

  • Disappointing tiresome viewing

The Story was very creative as was the incredible animation effects. The story was very dark and depressing. I was advised to view the 'Extras' for better information but sadly there were no sub titles and the narrator had a deep baritone voice that kept dropping in volume in every sentence end so being hearing impaired I got no sense from this poor production. The work and artistry were stunningly good, but sadly I wouldn't view it again and will give it away to a family member.

  • 'Vincent' is a delightful tribute to Van Gogh.

An interesting, entertaining and beautifully produced 'animated' film with a style drawn by artists clearly dedicated to Van Gogh's own art, and a storyline full of revealing insights onto his life. Highly recommended as a gift, too.

  • A must for all lovers of Van Gogh's art

I missed this film at the cinema so was pleased to be able to purchase DVD. As a lover of Van Gogh's art, it was delightful to see the animations in his own painting style. It was a poignant story of the end of his life portayed in a unique style.
