Better than The Killing Joke
This year's Batman animation output has been the source of some contention among fans. With The Killing Joke being highly controversial, Return Of The Caped Crusaders had to make up for something. And it did! This is one big homage to the Adam West TV series of the '60s. The swinging sixties are back. Don't expect Nolan Batman or Batman v Superman; this is entertainment for the nostalgic fans. Great score, voices by West, Ward and Meriwether, a truly colourful visual palette, ... it's all there.
