Classic gameplay, and by far the best game you can buy on the classic SNES platform that ever came close to what action arcade games should be. Also, it's the game that features actual characters from the Turtles TV show of the era, unlike other NES games... cough... the dam level... cough cough.... Seriously, this game is incredible. Especially throwing Foot soldiers towards Shredder... classic. Find a buddy and play this one 2-player though, if you want to see the ending on hard. Good luck!

This is one of those games I waited for eagerly for the Super Nintendo. Having played the original arcade game and the NES versions, I expected the same kind of action that Konami is famous for. Join with a friend for double the fun beating up Foot Clan soldiers and their mutants. One thing this game is sadly missing is the four player option. There was an adapter available the following year from Hudson. Konami should have taken the initiative and created their own bundled with this game just as Super Bomberman had the Multitap. The graphics are impressive with vivid colors and the fast paced music keeps you moving along. The settings are imaginative in the different time periods of the past and the future. The game originally from 1991 was ported to the Super NES in 1992 and it is a timeless classic that holds very well to this day.Read full review

In the early 90's arcades and consoles were bursting at the seams with beat-em-up sidescroller games. Turtles in Time is a sincerely clever title in this genre and makes for an especially fun time with 2 players. For anyone who has played this in the arcade, the cartridge version is a breath of fresh air with difficulty options and an opportunity to save your quarters. While genre often suffered from redundant levels and enemies, Turtles in time keeps things interesting by putting you in different periods of world history and providing themed bosses to fit the era. There are a number of levels that break the monotony with hoverboards, and water crafts. Like other Konami games, there are codes to expand to help you start off on the right foot. The Turtles have an impressive repertoire of moves and the ability to throw opponents at the screen which proves to be a useful technique during a later boss battle. The game doesnt take itself too seriously as it provides similar comedic atmosphere to the Television program. While the game can get rather boring for a single player with no one to get hype with, the overall replay value of the game is tremendous. I hope to play it with my children when they are older. Other games in this genre you may want to consider: Super Double Dragon, River City Ransom, Sonic Blastman II, and Streets of Rage II.Read full review

This was the first TMNT game to look as good as it did for any Nintendo system at the time and it didn't hurt that it came out on the SNES rather than the NES. Although I am a huge fan of TMNT 2: The Arcade Game for the NES, this one actually looked more like an arcade would look, via enhanced graphics. This game is the same idea as the previous two turtle games. You make your way through levels either with a little help from a friend or by yourself, fighting the foot clan and defeating a boss at the end to move on. Also like the previous two turtle games the enemies you've defeated will be tallied up, there will be pizza pickups for your health, and various short term attack pickups. There are a lot of unique aspects to this one however, as the title suggests you will be traveling through time which makes for some very interesting level design. The first level through time takes you the prehistoric times in which you have to watch out for dinosaurs, and there is even a really cool train level, graphics which were extrememly impressive at the time. You will also make it through the technodrome. A attack manuever they implemented in this one was the ability the throw you enemy at the screen. When you fight against Shredder for the firt time, this is actually how you inflict damage on him. Pretty unique and cool if you ask me. Also in this one, when you're just standing there, your turtle wont just stand there like a dope, they actually will do something, for example Raphael will twirl his sigh, or they might make a face. This is one thing that makes it seem more like an actual arcade game than the previous two games. This game is hailed as one of the greatest turtle games to come out for any console and you'll defeinitely find out if you give it a whirl. You'll probably want some help from a friend however, this game is quite challenging. You'll have to think fast and plan your attacks accordingly. Back when this game first came out I think I may have beaten the game by myself once or twice, but when I played it today I barely go halfway through the game. It is really fun though. There are also bonus levels in which you have to defeat as many enemies you can before the end which are applied to your overall enemy kill count. Konami makes great games, they always have and probably always will. This game certainly is no exception. I highly recommend it, especially if you were a TMNT fan back in the day, and maybe you're like me and still are. I always throught it'd been cool for them to incorporate Splinter and Casey Jones as a playable fighter in these games or even April maybe...hmmm... that might have been cool... Anyway, yes, I highly recommend this game, you should definitely try it out. It can go for a higher amount ($40-$50 on eBay, because it is a slightly rarer game and it still has a substancial following to this day, well worth it if you have the cash on hand however). Heros in a half shell, turtle power! Cowabunga dude! Okay, this review is done, thank you for reading it!Read full review
One of the best SNES games! Brought back good memories, and my kids (4 & 7) loved it too. It felt great sharing that part of my childhood with them =). For those that haven't played: classic side-scrolling "beat 'em up", 2P coop, arcade action. Each level introduces new enemies, environments, and bosses to keep things interesting. Each turtle has slightly different stats, but play more or less the same.

I'm not a beat 'em up fan. I played a bit of Steets of rage 2 when i was young. I bought TMNT IV for my collection because it's a cult game. And boy did i loved it! Yeah k played on easy, with the extra life cranked up. But it was a blast! And i'm not even a TMNT fan either! The graphics are good, the gameplay is easy to take a hold of. The animations are charming!!! Loved loved loved it!

If you're a fan of the turtles and retro games and this is the title for you. I grew up on this game as a kid now 25 years later I still can't beat it but it's an absolute blast to play and you'll get many hours of enjoyment. So if you think you've got what it takes take a trip through time with the heroes in a Half-Shell...TURTLE POWER!!

One of my favorite games of all time. Fun, classic arcade-style turtles game. Cartridge itself was in great shape and works like it's new. Story makes no sense but neither does the science of Ninja Turtles in general. TURTLE POWER!

It’s my second favorite turtle game after NES TMNT 3 Manhattan project. It’s pretty easy and short but the hit detection, graphics, and overall mechanics are great. Staple to any SNES collection.

For the price I ordered it out of curiosity since this game usually goes for a lot more. The game plays just fine but it is definitely a reproduction and not an original cartridge, and there are strange things like how the screws on the bottom appear to be a part of the plastic molding and not actual screws. This is great for people who want to play the game without paying crazy prices, but not ideal for collectors who are looking for genuine original carts.
