  • A Good Examination of Organized Crime

The author, Vincent Teresa, was a "capo" in the Raymond Patriarca crime family based in New England. Mr. Teresa was morbidly obese with a weight in excess of 300 pounds on a frame barely 5 feet in height. He died more than 25 years ago. The book gives amazing insights into New England organized crime as well crime nationally. A careful reading and re-reading of Mr. Teresa's story when matched against other information does cause a knowledgeable reader to think that corruption among certain F.B.I. agents in the Boston F.B.I. office began long before James "Whitey" Bulger and Steve "The Rifleman" Flemmi entered into collaboration with certain F.B.I. agents. The co-author, newspaper reporter Tom Renner, passed away many years ago, and unfortunately, his notes and other supporting documentation were destroyed so "My Life in the Mafia" cannot be re-published, so pre-owned copies of the book are all that will ever be available. Any news reporter in New England who writes about organized crime should obtain a copy of "My Life in the Mafia!"
