Ok for electrical cables, rubbish for finding studs
Used to find cables channel in wall under plaster, I knew there is a cable somewhere as I had seen it before re-plastering in our kitchen but could not find it, it was possibly too deep, it did find the more obvious ones, but some times took several scans before alerting. I was also trying to find the joists in a plasterboard ceiling, tried tapping and everything sounded hollow, so tried to use the detector and it seemed that everything was a stud, tried on a stud wall, hollow doors, and my hand, just alerts to everything. Not to be Trusted
I was attracted to this product because the sensitivity is at least adjustable, but it still gives far too many false positive indications, and more dangerously, false negatives, when tested around known cable locations. I could not trust it to drill into a wall which might or might not hide cables or pipes. So I'm afraid it's a waste of money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
