"Arbre de transmission" is a French term which translates into English as "driveshaft" or "propeller shaft". A driveshaft is a mechanical component that transmits torque and rotational power from a vehicle's transmission to its differential. It is usually found in rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive vehicles, and it consists of a long, hollow metal tube with universal joints at each end to allow drive flexibility.
