    Not quite as stated

    Towel radiator is advertised as a 900 watt element, its more powerful at approximately 1.4 Kw. My suspicion arose when a 5a fuse supplying the element was getting hot, 900w at 240v is 3.7A not the near 6 Amps the cool 45deg C the element is drawing. However it seems to work ok. It's stated as 230volts kbut UK mains are 240volts, but not enough to make much difference. So it would be worth purchasing a less powerful element than you require. Build quality looks fine. FOLLOW UP, when the element was put into full use there recommended 5amp fuse blew tests on the element gave the following unexpected results, as the temperature increased so did the current exactly the opposite of what was expected giving a top current of 6.3 amps, negative temperature coefficient!! Finally at around 70 degrees c the positive temperature coefficient started to kick in and the current started to decline slightly, had to abandon this element as too hot and approaching a burn risk.
