Humbucker in single coil format with moderate output. This little brother of the big Screamin' Demon combines a big, open sound with a slightly glassy touch. George wants a pickup with rich overtones that can really scream, but also gets really clean when you turn it back. The unique design, where one coil has regular slotted screws and the other has hexagon sockets in the pole pieces, achieves a slightly different magnetic field. The result is a big, percussive sound without being harsh. Ideal for classic rock, jazz rock fusion, heavy rock and aggressive instrumental rock. Got three now! Screaming Demon Jr.
This is the third example of this great pickup that I now own. Great dirty sound with enough body but still clear. Rocky dirty sound with plenty grunt for riffs and leads. I flirt with other strat sized hum buckets but this is my fave.
