Picked up 2 of these to supplement the 3 B500's I have. They are great if you are on a budget and do whats on the box. They hold up your cymbals. The plastic nuts over the cymbals are great and dont rattle (unlike the 500's). The accompanying felts are also great and dont need to be replaced.
However compared to the 500's the 400's are much more flimsy, not stable at height, and definitely cant be double loaded (e.g. tom mount). Which for me is an issue. I need either a sturdy tom mount or something that goes high (put a crash above the ride). So I will probably get a B600 (500's are discontinued) and use only one of the 2 400 i bought.
If it helps for full context, I play big band and jazz. If you have big cymbals, want to double high or go high, I would recommend something like the 600 which is only 7 quid more expensive.
Bought this stand for a ride cymbal and the quality is very good..stand base is wide and sturdy (much better than a cheaper stand I was looking at) Price was excellent and with great delivery
