Practical and Stylish - Nixon at it's best
As a fan of Nixon watches I am very happy to add this to my collection. The watch is large (about the same size of the 51-30) but still comfortable to wear. The design is stylish and looks good dressed up with a suit or wearing with jeans and a t-shirt. The subdials for seconds and tide look good and work well. I would be reluctant to wear for sports as although it is sturdy, I suspect the black coating will scratch easily revealing the silver underneath. Decent watch with tide function
Not a bad watch for $60, especially with a small dial for high/low tide. I couldn’t find an analog tide watch for any less. I have a few Quartz dive watches under $100 and this watch is a fair match against any of them. It’s surprisingly heavy and a bit on the large side, but feels very solid, like a dive watch (no rotating bezel though). Good matte black finish (seems to be powder coated). Nice links and closure too. Doesn’t feel cheap like many bands on less expensive watches often do. Links are rounded and smooth, so comfortable. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that the numbers/markers are a very pale green, not white like some of the pictures. I’d be willing to have the greenish hue if the lume was strong, but it’s a weak lume with a short life. One more note, one of the end links, and the small bezel, have a slightly different finish than the rest of the watch. Almost textured. It’s an odd choice. Not very noticeable, and I saw it in the pictures, but just be aware.
