excellent waffle maker
Makes great Belgium Waffles. It has a great non stick surface - I used oil the first time but not since. The waffles come out well cooked but not as crispy as my previous maker. The waffle is slightly less thick and the webs a bit thicker so it uses the same amount of mix as my previous maker. I may try letting the cook a bit longer to see if the will crisp just a bit. Oster DuraCeramic Belgian Waffle Maker
My last belgian waffle maker finally bit the dust after more than 10 years of use. It only failed because the non stick wasn't non stick anymore. So I did tons of research and bought the only ceramic belgian model I could find. It works well BUT the only disappointment is that I don't believe it should be called a "Belgian" waffle maker because the pcickets are NOT deep like a belgian model should be. EASY WAFFLES
Why didnt I get one of these sooner is beyond me.........Mix the mix in a bowl and once you actually learn how to pour the mix in without overfilling then the mess is minimal....I recommend while youre getting use to it that you lay at least a small towel under it. this will catch any overflow and lessen any mess clean up....The non stick surface is amazing and the waffles just separate and pull right out with no resistance......The only mess is me learning not to over pour the mix..lol....hence the towel......This is a belgium waffle maker so the finished product is soft and deep. thus holds your syrup in the squares beautifully. takes ballpark 5 minutes per waffle and well worth it....if you have a big family you might want to consider a double waffle maker that makes at least 2 at a time....but this one is even travel friendly and easy to stow and put away. This one doesnt flip over like some of the pricier units do but it doesnt need to as their is heat elements on both the top and bottom. This waffle iron makes good waffles, and unless you really overfill it it does a good job holding in the dough, making full height waffles. I am using Paleo Flour from Bob's Red Mill and this thing is awesome! Seemed like a drag to clean at first, but there's virtually no residue so I just wipe with a hot damp towel and let dry. Heats up in about 1 minute to the high setting, no on-off switch but for the price it's incredible!
