Complete service kit addresses all issues
A complete kit that replaces all components that can degrade. This pump had worked well for 15 years but started to only pump some of the water even though you could hear the pump running. Thought I would try a service kit as it was cheaper than having to buy a new pump. Replacing the parts was straight forward and you get all the screws to replace the existing ones. The whole job took under an hour to remove the pump and replace all the parts and re-install. If this lasts another 15 years I will be well pleased, I just hope I last as long! Economical way of restoring pump efficiency
I was having great difficulty coaxing a 10 year old Whale Shower pump to pump out water. It only needed to raise the water by about a foot, but each pump stroke saw the water dropping back again. I tried checking everything out and cleaning but could't improve things. When I fitted the replacement valves from the service kit it was working as good as new again. The kit was quite easy to fit and included everything that may be needed including a new diaphragm, which I replaced anyway even though the old one was not damaged. I think the problem is that the rubber flaps on the valves start to bow and distort with age and, although they look fine, they do not making a good seal. The same kit appears to fit the whole range of Gulper Pumps as far as I can tell.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great fix
Whale pumps are a great way to pump waste from a shower that's lower than your drainage... they are quite expensive though but you get what you pay for. Because of the moving items inside, it's not going to last forever, the diaphragm is always the first part to go, this kit however has everything you need to do a full service on a pump... why open it up and just replace the diaphragm?.... work just like new now!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
