I needed a transistor that would provide 1.00mA constant current from a 12V dc supply. The project used one device to give 5V reference across 1k to feed op-amp and bipolar tr to output very stable 5.0V supply. Using a 0 to 5k test load the variation in current was under 10uA. Temp stab v good. Impressed!

I tinker with guitar pedals, building and modding etc... With the shortage of J201 in both through hole and smd, someone recommended trying J113. They bias slightly differently but they seem to do the trick for distortion pedal circuits. Very happy with them!
