I replaced the original closer that came with the door that was 5-6 years old. The door is used a lot since we have two dogs. I could no longer adjust it so it wouldn't close hard. The new one is already at the point of being pretty much like the old one was before I replaced it and it's been used for maybe a month. That last 10 degrees before closing is abrupt and loud and no amount of adjusting will change it. Internally it sounds different as well. The old one was fairly quiet, while the new one sounds like a spring compressing. I checked against another closer just like it that is 18 months old and is mounted to a dual closer Andersen door on a screened porch. It's no better, so Andersen has obviously "cost reduced" the design to be no better than a closer costing $10. I have complained to Andersen about other products that failed to perform and they were very helpful, so I will likely do it again.
Replacement for my Andersen Screen door. Not as heavy duty as my OEM. Brackets needed reworked for mounting holes due to new style. It was easily done.
