This kit is a must for scope alignment accuracy.
I was able to fix an error the local gunsmith made to my 100 year old Swedish Mauser when he drilled and tapped it for a scope. Both scope mounts were canted. The rear one to the left and the front one was canted to the right. The rifle would zero in at a given yardage but lost accuracy beyond the zero always shooting farther to the left the greater the distance from where the zero was set. Now with the bases leveled and the scope rings trued I gained 50 MOA and have hit a 18 inch metal plate at 1,000 yards! The gun smith in question kept telling me my the problem was my scope and he wanted to sell me a $1,200 scope to fix the problem. Shame on you Sir, shame on you. Long story short. If you have a crossed eyed scope alignment problem like I had (I didn't know it until I bought this kit) this IS the fix. Wheeler products are the best!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Wheeler Professional Scope Mounting Kit
First, I would hardly call it a " Professional " kit as I would expect someone I am paying to have much better tools. If you gunsmith uses this I would find a real gunsmith. That being said for the home gunsmith this is an outstand kit. The tools are fairly robust for perfect for occasional use. The alignment tool that is included works perfect as does the lapping bar. The torque driver is within 1-2 inch pounds ( Tested against a known calibrated professional model ) The kit includes everything you need to mount a scope correctly plus the driver can be used to torque your action into the stock. This is a great product, did not use the drill attachment because I didn’t need to take off much material on the scope rings. Wish a kit would come in 1inch only. Still in the box
I purchased this to align a new pistol scope application. I want it to be as good as I can get it. I only have a minor problem..... They back ordered my scope rings. I will find a rifle to do while I wait. I am certain it will be better that I can shoot with it. I am fussy, and this will get me to a point where I am confident.
