    Best fiberglass paint ever

This is a great product. Prepare your surface well. I used it on a fiberglass rv shower. It will take 2 coats to cover completely. Do not over roll your paint surface as the product does start to set up after a few minutes. If you roll the product after it starts to set up your surface will be rough. It might appear as it starts to dry that you have two different shades. Don’t worry about this. After the paint is completely dry it will blend and will be completely uniform with one color. I made the mistake of trying to blend my paint with my roller and caused a rough surface. So after a week i re-sanded only the rough area and bought a new can of pain and repainted only the affected area. For my first time ever using this product my wife ans I are extreemly satisfied. This is a great paint to use.

    DISOLVES IN GASOLINE

I used this product to coat a cast iron bathtub. It had been professionally recoated a few years back but it ended up peeling off around the drain so we cleaned and wet sanded the tub recoated the area that was peeled and then put on two more coats of the Rustoleum letting it dry and sanding in between coats. The first coat was real rough so we switched to a foam roller on the second coat which worked much better but still not as smooth as a sprayed on product. Still it looked a lot better. It is almost two weeks since we did the tub and I'm working on the engine for my mower and need something to clean the parts in and notice the old plastic roller pan with the rust-oleum dried in the bottom of it, so I dumped a little gas in it. I came back a few minutes later and the Rust-oleum was all bubbling up. I ran my fingers around in it and it all peeled up. All the epoxies I've ever used held up pretty good to gasoline. This may hold up all right with regular cleaners but I'm not too impressed after seeing what the gas did.

  • Product does work!

Some people are skeptical about painting ceramic tile. The product does work, but it is not easy to use. Has an extremely strong odor which requires ventilation. Mix a very small amount at a time because it tends to become sticky and is like trying to brush on glue. I painted over burgundy tile, so it required two coats, sometimes 3. But I did paint the burgundy tile, and now it is white. My job shows some brush marks but I am still pleased with it. Much better than looking at burgundy tile trim around all countertops and showers. Took it to a paint store and had them tone it down a bit. Was very white-white.

  • Good Product

The results look great. The prep work was not easy - took days to get the tub and shower ready but worth it in the end. The only downside is that one quart was not enough to finish the project. I had to order another quart and apply it a few days later and then wait another 3-4 days before I was able to take a shower. Needless to say, I was pretty ripe and really needed one. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the product and hope I never have to do it again.

  • Rust-oleum Tub and Tile Refininshing Kit

This product WORKS IF you follow the instructions on the box to the LETTER!!!! first sand the tub with wet 600 sand paper, the use a SOS pad to further clean the tub, then use comet cleanser and go over the tub again, then wash the tub twice with a cleaner you mix with water like Dirtex or TSP-PF then DRY the tub and use a hair dryer to dry around the drain. after all this get a roller with a foam cover and roll the tub BUT watch out this stuff runs like crazy, so just keep up as it levels!!! It looks great if you follow the instructions!!

  • Just did my tub and sink. Both look great!

It takes 3 days to fully cure. Tub has to be cleaned very well of all soap skum and sanded lightly, but If the finish holds up it's much better than tub replacement. Leaves a bright white smooth finish. 1 hour to dry between each coat. Each coat made it look better and better.Make for sure to get a ventilator mask because the fumes are very strong.

  • Rustoleum tub n tile paint

Certainly preparation is all important. Does a good job as far as covering and adhesion goes. Looks nice and shiny when done. Appears like it will stand up to many years of use. However if anyone thinks they will get a smooth new tub look applying with a brush and roller they are in for a disappointment. The two part epoxy paint sets up very fast and guickly becomes impossible to keep a smooth even surface coat going. Spraying would be the best but unless you want to mask off your entire bathroom it's not realistic. Also the fumes are intense and even with good ventilation your whole house is inundated with the smell for a couple of days. We actually vacated the home for three days as my wife could not handle the smell. Overall considering the cost saving over installing a new tub I would recommend this product if you can be content with the less than new look.

  • Great product

This is a two part epoxy paint which you mix. It provides a harder finish than the one part. I used this brand many times with very good results. After brushing 2nd coat, you cannot save for future use because it becomes rock hard.

  • What a difference!!

Just bought a house, which means I bought stuff in here I don’t want but can’t do without. My gross tub has been revived by this Rust-Oleum stuff as if it were magic!! I would highly recommend it, if like me, have to recover from a home purchase before financing renovations. This will definitely buy me some recovery time!

  • Excellent Product for Ceramic Tile Renovation

I purchase this product to renew an old worn ceramic tile floor in my shower stall. Preparation took the most of the time since I followed instructions. Having applied 3 coats of the product, I still had a half of unused liquid available. So I decided to apply it to the kitchen and bathroom counters without any preparation at all--just washed them with Windex. There were old caulk, pieces of something stuck between tiles, cracks, etc in the tile counters, and I just poured and applied the liquid equally with a paint roller, like an ordinary paint. It made my counters look like brand new, even better since it covered all defects and spaces between tiles. Amazing!!! However, the product dries very fast, and when dried, it's very hard to remove it from unwanted areas. Therefore, use with caution. To remove overspills, I used acetone-nothing else worked. That was done for a rental unit, I and was considering a replacement of all tile covered surfaces--that's how bad they looked. $30 and 5 hours of work saved me at least a couple of thousand dollars.
