Its a fun little laser, for hobbyist use.
It etches, nicely and doesnt get particularly hot. It output a square beam, and has a secondary light emission in the green spectrum. the lens is a nice quality. Cutting takes place in the center of the square, so it behaves like a normal laser, but sometimes things in the beam path also burn. Pocket size dynamite....Be careful!!!!....But fantastic for the money
This little laser really does pack a punch!!! The adjustable focus means you can get very precise etching and engraving results. But BE WARNED...Wear the protective goggles at all times!!! A glance into even the reflected beam can burn out your eye retina and optic nerve in a fraction of a second....Instant Blindness!!! NOT for first time experimenters. Excellent for etching into wood and the ability to narrow the focus of the beam is brilliant (sorry about the pun!!). I hooked mine up to my mini CNC machine for really precise results. The TTL trigger function is really useful for precise control....though the logic is inverted....0V=On, 5V=Off. Despite the fan, she will get hot and prolonged use will make her overheat. For this money, you won't do better...BUT SERIOUSLY, AT 2.5-3Watts YOU CAN DO A LOT OF DAMAGE!!! BE CAREFULVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works well for wood and leather

Great laser

Test laser module
I took the laser for my 3D printer for making printed circuit boards. Laser can focus on 0.3mm, unfortunately it's not a point but a rectangle. When creating the g-code, it is necessary to take into account that in one axis it is spherical with a greater width than in the other axis. There is no problem for doing TSSOP footprint, only the insulation gap must be at least 0.24mm . The photos can be seen that in one axis are narrower paths. Cutting paper, balsa plywood is cool

Good laser, but not very long lastingb
Got this autumn and it has waited till now. I hooked it up and it run nice and got very small dot (0.1mm), but then suddenly all power lost. Diode failed. I lost 60€ for couple minutes of runtime. Be aware as this may not last long.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great laser for the price
