Like everything else from PNSO, this small effigy of a restored Placodont, by name Placochelys Glyphoderma (the correct spelling is Placochelys, not "Placocheyls") is a great addition to the collection of anyone who is thrilled by the study of ancient life. It should be noted that Placochelys is not a dinosaur but a different Mesozoic reptilian form. It resembles a turtle, courtesy of Convergent Evolution, yet is not one. As an example of aquatic Secondary era fauna, it goes with your Plesiosaurs, Mososaurs and Icthyosaurs, if you have them. Placodonts are in fact extremely rare among prehistoric sculpted figures; indeed, I know of no others. Again-- all PNSO figures are worth the attention of the serious collector, and this economically-priced one is no exception. Placodonts are thought to have subsisted upon bivalves, which they dived for. The creature is shown, appropriately, in a dynamic swimming posture. I find no fault with the coloration. The relatively small size is also welcome to one whose display shelves are cluttered with larger creatures. Recommended!Read full review

My 11 year old son loves this dinosaur model, but being a dinosaur geek says that it is not scientifically accurate!
