    Good But Not Great

Do I recommend the router. Yes, with reservations. Is it a good value? Depends on how much you have to pay. Is it of good quality? Seems to be of solid build. This little router seems to do a pretty good job picking up weak cell signal (2 bars) so no complaints there. My one complaint where I feel this router is lacking is that it's WIFI signal is really only good for ONE ROOM. So, I would not suggest you buy this thinking it is going to work as a WHOLE HOME WIFI router. You will be very disappointed if that is the case. It does support you attaching a good router with solid WIFI signal and doing that works very well. As for value, If you have to pay full retail price for one of these then I wouldn't consider that to be a good value. As for quality. The outer case is sturdy and the display does a good job providing sufficient info. My experience with this that I like it much better than the JETPACK routers although it obviously isn't as compact and portable. If you need something to stuff in a backpack and carry around this isn't a good option. But for static setup this works out well. I liked it well enough that I bought a second to use as a backup in the event my primary might fail. One thing to be aware of is that if these are not set up to easily remove or swap the SD Card for your cell service. The Micro SD Card that with the Chip that holds your CELL/DATA plan is internal and the router has to be taken apart to access the CARD which is something Verizon will not do. The Router has connections for EXTERNAL antennas but I've been told that it really only helps with VOICE and not DATA. I would like to see and antenna that would help with reception of the Data signal. Hope this helps.

    Retired sim

Product maybe is good or rAther WAS good. When it was released 4-5 years ago. Problem is, this device is built with preinstalled sim. So you cant replace it easily. Where biggest problem lies is that verizon retires sim numbers after one year of inactivity. So most of these devices have retired sim. Since they just lay around and not being used. So careful buying one. Contact the seller before you buy and ask for sim so you can verify it with verizon before they ship it to you. And even then one device i verified prior to shipping it to me. And still when i received it- called verizon and the next lady on phone tried to connect it and it was also retired. So i imagine a bunch of sellers have bought these units in bulk. Two that i bought were new. But most of them probably have retired sims so they are pretty much worthless... anyhow good luck

  • Works great rural area

I assume this item was brand new, there is a very small scratch or nick on it that is probably why it didn't make inspection to be sold brand new. This scratch is hardly noticeable and doesn't effect operation at all. I took to Verizon store and they installed SIM card for me for free, they say you can't replace SIM which is wrong. I was going to do it but the guy at store said he wasn't busy and has been doing a bunch of them. It took him about 5 minutes to remove the 6 screws on the bottom and replace card and put back together, anyone could do this, but you do need a very small Torx driver bit. We use this in lieu of the hard wired internet that is horrible in the country. The device gives me 2 bars of LTE data which is the same as my iphone 6 gets placed next to it. I just got the device running so I may purchase an external antenna to increase signal, but so far it is working great. I highly recommend this device if you trying to cut the cord with rural crappy internet. Item arrived earlier than expected and came in a plan USPS package. Love it switched to unlimited data plan and saved $50.00 a month to boot!! Update my iPhone speed tests at around 6mbps this unit test around 25 mbps lightening fast internet

  • works well but older technology

Given the lack of true Verizon routers, this is a good choice. The technology is a little dated in that you cannot remote in from a separate location to manage it also the ADMIN controls are very limited. It setup very quickly and the pre loaded SIM card was authorized immediately by Verizon. I had bought the newest Jet pack by Verizon but it had some limiting features not intended to be a fulltime router.

  • Brand New- Saved $150 instead of buying from Verizon.

Came in perfect band new condition. It was a little confusing as to how to activate it. I took it to my local Verizon store and they had to can support who still couldn't figure it out. The problem was that the sim card is inside the router not a sim card that can simply be inserted. When you take it to get activated show them the bottom of the unit it has the IME number and the sim card number that is inside the unit. You don't have to take it apart- wish I knew this up front since it took over an hour to set up with a sales associate that didn't know anything. We disabled the Wi Fi and connected an eero mesh network as the router. We have a 6500 square foot warehouse that now has perfect internet.

  • Great 4G WiFi router and phone.

Took a bit of effort working with Verizon to get it setup but works great! Also discovered these have a 15GB monthly quota unlike the 10 GB quota for the new JetPacks before being reduced to 3G speeds of 600kbps. Still works good at 3G speeds for basic internet. These also have Ethernet ports which allows for other equipment to be plugged in directly.

  • Verizon T1114 My Opinion

The Verizon T1114 worked well for me-i bought it used on bay for around $35 shipped. With only 2 bars showing for data i reached speeds as high as 25Mbps WITHOUT external antennas. The voice showed 4 of 5 bars and was completely clear and reliable. It was quite impressive seeing how i live out in the sticks. The nearest tower was over 5 miles away via a pass through large hills. The only problem is Verizon's stingy plans. I am not sure you can use this with the old Grandfathered true unlimited plans but i would recommend one if you can as having good data speed just helps you burn thru data to the caps on the normal plans. The T1114 must have wall power plugged in to use Data, otherwise on battery power alone you only get access to voice. I would of given 5 stars for this if it were not for Verizons lame data plans.

  • Mifi Home v1114 Verizon 4g LTE

Excellent little device, I live in a rural area I get anywhere from 8-10mbps download speeds with the 4g network. Plans with Verizon unlimited data give you 15 gb of lte and then throttles down to 600kbps download speeds. Add the device for $20 a month, includes 3 Ethernet ports, 2 phone ports and 2 antenna ports. Does not support 3G like the mifi portable units but does the trick for web surfing and gaming on consoles and pc. I don't recommend doing updates for it will eat data and leave you running at a slower speed. If you have hotspot on ur phone I recommend using it for updates under unlimited data plans. With your phone you can get 15gb of lte then unlimited 3G speeds... great for uninterrupted gameplay. I recommend buying a antenna and a power cord. The mifi home can be disassembled and you can swap the micro SIM cards.

  • Great home phone substitute

Need a special Torx screwdriver to remove 6 screws from base and remove the battery. I replaced the included Verizon SIM card with an already active Verizon MVNO SIM card. Originally I planned to use this for VOIP calling, but I plugged in a cordless phone to the phone jack and the call quality was excellent. My elderly relative prefers this setup instead of a cell phone. WiFi is available for her to check her email, but with limited data no streaming video. Good if you live in an area with limited internet services.
