I had a valve that would not switch off water in central heating. Either complete drain down and all associated air locks etc plus losing the treatment fluid in system after or try this. Well it works. The only thing I found was my DeWalt 18v cordless was not up to the task. it nearly burnt out so I recommend have a good ratchet socket set ready in case. you need one with a longish handle so you get good leverage. I turned 1/4 turn at a time. Quite hard but after what seemed a lot of turning all done. Leak free and I turned off flow , cleaned out the filter. Yes works very well. Reasonably compact. you do need about 20-25mm between pipe and wall to accommodate the slug receptacle but great product worth every penny. would not hesitate to use another in similar circumstances if needed

This product was far more difficult to fit on a 22 mm copper pipe than advertised I was fitting this on a fifth floor apartment when it started to leak. I followed the video instructions several times and bought a dewalt as advised drill. I cleaned the copper pipe thoroughly before hand. Anyone fitting a new lever latch valve are a fraction of the price and if in a block of flats and your valve has frozen then usually in the ceiling of corridor outside flat door I h have wasted some £120 and am very disappointed ! Not for the diyer very lucky not to have had a major flood Jay M
