Book club chose this title. Always great to be able to get it at good value. Sadly this one is marked in pen in first few pages but thankfully not all the way through.

Good holiday read
Rose Tremain is back on better form .This was much more like the Rose Tremain I have always admired.Although not up to the standard of Sacred Country or Music & Silence( two of her very best) it was nevertheless an enjoyable page turner Personally I found the ending more of a fizzle than a bang.
