Cliff Bennett is better with brass
I appreciate that Cliff Bennet and his band didn’t achieve the real chart success that was due to them and had to rely on a cover of a Beatles track to get their best chart placing. I have seen him live at one of the Butlin’s 60’s weekends and he was entertaining, although I think it’s time he retired. The tracks from his early days are a bit disappointing and are basic , average group fodder from that period but when he and the band get into their stride and add the brass section to the lineup he sounds much better and is more soul orientated. Some great tracks. Well worth the money if you skip the first half a dozen or so tracks. Good condition c.d. and delivers on time.
