Decent enough filter floss wool pad. Stopped buying custom made pads for my filter a long time ago. A small fortune can be saved with the likes of this material, if you are willing to spend a few minutes cutting to size. I use it in a 50ltr tank, with an integral lid type filter box, which is fed by a spray bar from a small submersible pump. I use it as primary filter medium, the secondary being bio-mechanical sponge pad, which I also buy in sheets, and cut to size. This filter floss is as good as anything I have used in the past. It is nearer 12mm than 15mm, but probably got slightly "flattened" in the post. However, I just doubled it up, and insert two layers into the filter system instead of one layer. Even using two layers, it is still very cost effective, and works fine in my system (actually my granddaughters tank, which I maintain for her!). A custom made filter set for the tank, comprising 1 filter floss pad, and 1 sponge pad, costs nearly 6.00 pounds. I can make about 50 floss pads from this material, so that would be 25 filter changes. The sponge pads are about the same price, so I can do 25 filter changes for the cost of 2 manufacturers filter sets. No contest in my opinion, and in my scenario. Read full review
