Additional InformationFour years after the initial success of the BEIDERBECKE AFFAIR mini-series, the BBC followed with this sequel. The chronicles of the jazz fans continue as Trevor (James Bolam) and Jill (Barbara Flynn) are now married and raising their first child. They take in a border as a favor to a friend. This task seems more trouble than it's worth, but at least their guest is a jazz fan. One of the few English phrases he knows is, "Bix is cool." Things should work out.

Well made and enjoyable
The Beiderbecke Connection is a sweet little drama- not much really happens but the characters are engaging and the script well written. The soundtrack introduces much of the traditional jazz sound really effectively. Pity it wasn't converted to a wide screen format on DVD release (although possibly this would require stretching everybody sideways so might have made it look peculiar). Production values are great otherwise, so it's a strong recommendation for light Sunday night drama!
