Being a hardcore fan, im going to try and give you a balanced view as to why this is a possible purchase for you! As story lines go, this anime is coherent and if you look at some of the background to it, it's rich and diverse so after you’re done watching these you'll want more. Kenshiro as the main character has some good one liners that after coming back to it after a long time are actually quite good, either being well put, laughable, or hyped. His ensuing entourage will also lend more of the same as the story goes on and the same can be said for the likes of his protagonists such as Shin, Spade, Club - these guys are the stuff of enemy legend or fodder depending on how you want to see it. On the visuals, it’s easy on the eye and leaves much to the imagination re the gore to justify the age classification. That said there are times when the drawings are a tad sketchy but this just adds to the charm alongside the dialogue which tied into the Music, well what can I say, it was never released separately but the drum and bass score if you have home cinema is well done and rarely drops off, it adds to pace and if you like that type of music along with everything else, you’ll enjoy this package no end. When you watch this, appreciate the animation at the time for what it was (The new fist of the North Star just makes it more graphic but something is lost in translation of its visual appeal), the fact that, when this was dubbed there probably wasn’t a finite amount of episodes in the voice actors mind and that each time it appears on eBay it goes for £40-60 a pop. I like this because its fun well thought and in comparison to some of the other anime productions out there timeless in its own right. Enjoy!Read full review
This is one of the best Manga's ever to be created, it has spawned so many spin off's and even has its own arcade game plus a whole host of 2D fighting games. That's just a small glimpse of how much of an impact this Manga has had on the world. The action is fast and powerful with plenty of characters and plenty of violence, the story is of course total fiction however because of its simplicity you can follow it easily. There's not a huge following of this Manga unlike Naruto / Dragonball Z simply because it was released way back in 1986 and the feature length film followed in the 90's with most people knowing only of the title because of the feature film. However one low point for this fantastic Manga is when some people decided they could pull off a live action film starring Chris Penn and some lower level actors, the story hardly follows the manga, the characters are all wrong, and the lead actor hardly has any martial arts skill that Kenshiro displays in the Manga, thus this live action film is not worth it. In Short this Manga is one of a kind and it a treasure to the Manga community. 10/10Read full review
