Additional InformationBased on a true story, SCHINDLER'S LIST is Steven Spielberg's epic drama of World War II Holocaust survivors and the man who unexpectedly came to be their saviour. Unrepentant womaniser and war profiteer Oskar Schindler uses Polish Jews as cheap labour to produce cookware for the Third Reich. But after witnessing the violent liquidation of the walled ghetto where the Krakow Jews have been forced to live, Schindler slowly begins to realise the immense evil of Nazism. When his own employees are sent to a work camp, they come under the terrorising reign of sadistic Nazi Amon Goeth (Ralph Fiennes). With the help of his accountant, Itzhak Stern (Ben Kingsley), Schindler creates a list of "essential" Jews. Bribing Goeth, Schindler manages to get 1,100 people released from the camp and brought to the safety of his munitions factory in Czechoslovakia. Spielberg's glorious film is wondrously evocative, visually stunning, and emotionally stirring.

This film is one of Spielberg's finest. Based on a true story, I wanted to watch this after a visit to Krakow. This is the updated version and includes bonus material that is only available on this DVD.
After many years I rewatched and experienced this film.
It hade even more emotional power than almost twenty years ago.
As a film it stood as a well constructed work and an essential reminder of the ability of people to both endure and change, to remain human in the most noble way.
Lest we ever forget.
DVD arrived quickly but covered in dirty fingerprints!
I appreciate this product was used but seems a shame that the DVD arrived covered in dirty fingerprints :(
However, the packaging was suitable and it arrived quickly.
The product itself was boxed with a storyline brochure attached and I was very impressed.the story was also very good but the words in places was a little hard to understand.
The film shows a piece of history that should never be forgotten. It is a shame that politicians do not learn from the history of the Second World War.
