This is almost a great FFB motor unit, almost. If Thrustmaster would stop using the horrible fans that often fail completely in a matter of days it would help. The second most likely point to fail is a £1.50 component in the circuit board which checks for the USB voltage before allowing the mains voltage to power up the device. I have to date successfully repaired all of the "dead" TX Wheelbases I've come across. A little more QC from Thrustmaster would do wonders for these products. In use these are very good at their pricepoint, there are no competitors, ( maybe the cause of Thrustmaster's bewildering attitude) there are many accessories to choose from. Should you buy one? Search YouTube for the replace fan and repair videos. If you are capable and willing to make these changes should the need arise, definitely buy one. If not it's a gamble but then every product has failures. Without the failures it's a great wheelbase.Read full review

Does be fooled by the high price of these very dodgy wheels I only used mine for a total of six months over three years, when not in use it was stored back in its original packaging and in the box and stored in the loft. When I got it out to use with Forza 7 it lasted 3 minutes before it died completely, after emailing thrustmaster as its the only way to get in touch, to be told it needs to go back to the service centre located in France and not the UK as I first thought at my cost and with a low customs value to avoid taxes with a possible cost approaching £100 I decided to buy a Logitech g920 which has been excellent so far.

The item was broken, the wheel will not stay centred even after recalibration, the wheel hangs slightly to the left and it makes it very hard to be accurate in racing games.
