I took the description of it being an oil at face value, expecting it to actually be an oil. It is not an oil though. It is an alcohol based solution. It smells very strongly of Isopropyl alcohol with a bit of fragrance thrown in. I do not have the correct equipment to use this stuff properly, and I am not buying expensive lamps just for this. What I have done instead, is poured it on some dryer sheets, let the alcohol evaporate off, then put the sheets in various places, mainly behind radiators. They do make the room smell of Patchouli, but not for very long. I have no idea how long this would last in a proper evaporative lamp, but I doubt it will be for very long. It is obvious by the smell of the stuff that there is a very high concentration of Isopropyl (which incidentally can be bought very cheaply indeed), thus a small amount of fragrance. This is VERY expensive for what it is. I bought it because I thought it was cheap for Patchouli Oil, but it turns out to be very expensive for a drip of oil diluted in a lot of Isopropyl alcohol.Read full review
