Shaves really well, expensive though !
My Braun 3090cc series shaver developed battery problems so I decided on the Philips 9000 Prestige. The first time I tried it I thought it had been shipped without cutters as it was so smooth compared to the Braun (which recently had a new cutter head). I've been using the Philips S9000 for a few weeks now and am really impressed. It cuts close and very smoothly with no dragging or tugging and has very good battery life. A WASTE OF MONEY
It looks good and it is easy to clean. The blades are not very sharp. It takes ages to have a shave and even then the result can't match a conventional wet shave with a razor. It was a waste of money.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Expensive but good
Very expensive but certainly very good - but only after a few shaves to allow it to "Wear In". Using an electric pre-shave lotion (not cream) helps a lot. I have had a number of Philips cordless razors over the years and this is one of the better ones - but then it should be for the price!. I still find my old Philips RO 1251, many years old now, is very good as it has a flat head rather than a convex head and does seem to give a better shave. Would I recommend the SP9820 ? Yes I would if you can afford it although whether it is worth the expense is debatable. Do feel it should come with a stand and auto charge when placed in that stand (as per the RO 1251). Forget the Wi-Fi pad, a stand is much better together with a plug-in connection if the stand plays up. This one comes without the charging pad (thank goodness) and simply plugs in to charge.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Very smooth
It takes a-bit longer to shave with than a normal razor. What I like about this razor is I can see how much power it has, and I know when it needs charging again. I really like that it charges wirelessly. The only problem I have about these types of razor is that there far too expensive and electric razors are not worth £300. I have had philips electric shavers almost all my life there was never any question as to what make of shaver I would buy, only which model. I did wonder about the higher cost of the 9000 prestige but decided to go for it.
