Modern diets are lower in magnesium than they once were because of the way foods are now cultivated, harvested and processed. To offset this, and maintain a better quality of health, we need to compensate by absorbing extra magnesium. Eating magnesium enriched foods, or popping magnesium supplements isn't much of a solution because our bodies find it hard to actually synthesise magnesium in this way, and put it to good use. The easiest way to absorb magnesium is through the skin. Epsom salt is otherwise known as hydrated magnesium sulfate. Dissolve Epsom salt in a nice, warm bath and take a long soak and magnesium will find its way in to your system. The health benefits of this are phenomenal.
