High quality design/build. Initial set up instructions could be clearer - took some time to get master node to talk to my Sky router using supplied Ethernet cable but 2nd and 3rd nodes set up in minutes with no Ethernet cables, guiding me where to get best signal strength. Having read previous reviews I deliberately over-spec’d with a triple pack ( my bungalow is 2,300 sq. feet ) but excellent coverage including drive out front and rear patio and garage. I have no regrets in spending a bit more for 3rd node, quality and reliability.

The Velop range of mesh wifi systems is long established, and if you already have some then (as I did) buying some more to fill in gaps in mesh coverage is a good idea. The Velop mesh system works well: once it is set up it tends to just work, and if you have issues the Velop customer support system is good - Linksys certainly try to ensure you are happy with the product. But my recommendation is that if you you can buy something else then do. A quick look at the Velop community support site will indicate that there are many unresolved issues with this system. For example to work, the Velop routers need good connections between each base station - without this the network the base stations create is unreliable and slow. But there is no sensible method offered for determining whether the base-stations are close enough together - and it turns out the allowable distance between base units is *small* (unless you wire them together using ethernet cable). To get reliable connections across my small two-storey house I ended up having to put in six base stations... It would seem other mesh products (e.g. Orbi) don't have the same problems, and are therefore a possibly a better option.Read full review

It's good when it works. We bought the 3 pack for our house mostly because the standard Vodafone router doesn't generate a decent wifi signal. However, although the setup procedure is simple, it's achingly slow and each node takes longer than the last. That would not be too bad but when the router goes down (or a teenage daughter unplugs a node!) the Velop does not automatically reconnect so the whole setup has to be repeated. We do now have seamless wifi all round the house, but I don't feel I would recommend this system.

Takes some setting up. App could be better, but has improved with the recent updates. Works well and pick up wifi in garden and on drive now! Bought to replace a system of 3 routers with different ssid which was a pain to use.

The functionality is great, but in our new house with a combination of reinforced concrete walls and floors the range is very limited. The maximum transmission is through one wall or floor. So this has ended up being a very expensive wifi solution for a 2200 sq ft house - we needed 5 towers to cover the whole house over 3 floors.
