Needs care in application, I used an old pair of my wife's tights to firmly wipe off the excess, this sorts out all the brush strokes and evens the coating out. Initially looks gloss, then dries to a smooth, flat matt finish. The result is very pleasing and the colour change was marginal in our experience. This was on an old French cherry wood refectory table and gave it that slightly shabby-chic look. We did 3 coats using less than a 3rd of a tin ! the 1st pic shows how the table was....in a bit of a state. Pic 2 shows it after sanding with a yellow & green kitchen scourer sponge & washing powder, took all the wax off, finally pic 3 is after the 3 coats of Osmo oil matt 3062. We did try samples first and were tempted by the RAW finish 3044, but too much white pigment for us, showed up the imperfections on our rustic table. The big colour diff in the pics is due to pic no 1 being taken at night whereas the others were taken in daylight. The colour diff was actually marginal.Read full review

After researching for my wood worktops and having used Danish oil on previous worktops, so far it's doing its job. I chose the clear matt as I wanted the wood to look as natural as possible. Easy to apply and dries within recommended time. You must apply the recommended coats, I applied 5 just to be in the safe side!
