a great help if charging a battery which should be switched off when fully charged . The unit switches off and stays off and that is so important as other timers do switch off but then switch on again in 24 hrs, That could be detrimental to a battery which needs to stay off when fully charged, which is the case with all lithium batteries. The choice of staying switched on has four hours as the maximum available charge time before it switches itself off. Eight hours would be very useful if that could be introduced. Easy to use and clear indicators
I found this product so easy to use. The light indicators are clear to see and show the countdown so you aware of the time left. I used mine on a slow cooker and found it easy to see the time left to go to get other things ready. My only comment against it is what others have said. It was very tight to get the plug into this unit. I am leaving it on my slow cooker plug (as I don't need it for anything else) but I would dread trying to get the plug out again if I needed to without breaking it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Useful Easy Simple
This is a very useful item, easy to use, simple concept. The plug has to be pushed in with some force and the display is tiny so if this is say above a kitchen unit you may need to get higher to read it; this will be ok when you know what each light represents. A great little box for saving money
I have a lot of timers running to control lights, but they're not appropriate for everything. This is really useful for preventing overcharging (laptops, phones, shavers etc etc). It takes no power until you press and hold the green button - then it turns on. Each press gives more time - from 15 minutes to 8 hours, so really useful for powering everything at a work desk, via a multi-block. Unique solution to a time-switch problem
I wanted a single push of a button to switch on a coffee percolator for a fixed time, in this case 15 minutes. The Ansmann countdown timer does this in a simple and effective way. The unit is only slightly wider than the plug into which it is inserted. In effect the timed socket is just a couple of inches further out from the wall socket. The percolator stays plugged into the timed socket and a single push of the timer's button gives me hot coffee without needing to remember to switch off after percolation has finished. Good for Dysons
Got this to prolong the battery life of our Dyson, as I'm not keen on leaving it charging for days on end. This works fine and is easy to use. The only dwawback is the writing is extremely small, so it is hard to see what time you are setting. Does 15mins, 30mins, 1hr...

Does exactly what it is supposed to do... so I ordered two more.
Bought one and have now had it for a week. Have tried it on a few appliances: Computer charger, Phone charger, Dehumidifier. Good tests as the load requirement of these devices is a broad spread.
